Background:
The DuPage West Cook (DWC) Board has been critical in developing programming for the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Visually Impaired students. The Board is comprised of representatives of 92 members districts. SASED is a cooperative that CUSD 200 utilizes to provide Vision services and programming for Deaf and Hard of Hearing programming. Through the years, the DWC Board has transitioned from overseeing the daily operations of the programs to an advisory and informational Board. The DWC Board met on February 13, 2025 and passed a resolution to amend its intergovernmental agreement in order to eliminate the DWC Board and to have it act rather, as an Oversight Committee.

Summary:
In order to change from a Board to an Oversight Committee, a quorum of the 92 members districts must approve a resolution signed by their Board of Education. As a member district of DWC, we need to take action on the attached Resolution that resolves the proposed amendments to the D/WC Agreement attached to this Resolution. Even with this action, programming will continue to be provided and no interruption of services will occur.
