Background

The District network uses Cisco products for its maintenance support on hardware as well as our VOIP (phone) system.HANS support through Sentinel is 24-hour access to experts to assist district staff with diagnosing or repairing hardware issues. Cisco Flex is the support and maintenance of our district phone system.

Summary:
|
The District has been working with Sentinel for the past six years supporting our Cisco environment and equipment. Sentinel's High Availability Network Support with CISCO coverage adds one and two hour response guarantees on major systems that keep the district connected and working. Cisco Flex is a new product that Cisco has broken out apart from what used to be included in our HANS/SmartNet support. The total cost of this agreement is $69,926.00 for 6 mo. of HANS support and $214,034.72 for 3 years of VOIP (phone support). For the 2023 school year the cost for both will be $142,674.91 (this includes a $2,106 one time setup fee). Comparably last year's cost was $135,254. The increase can be attributed to as equipment ages it needs a dedicated maintenance plan as well as the newly branded CISCO Flex pricing structure for our phone system that now comes with its own pricing tiers.
