Background
|
The Board of Education approved a three-year contract with Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group (RMG) for athletic trainer services in June 2020 at a rate of $15 per hour. The original contract is set to expire on June 30, 2023, and allows for one-year contract extensions for an additional two (2) years.

Summary:
|
Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group has presented a First Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement to extend the contract for two (2) additional years, with an increase in the hourly rate to $22 per hour. The hourly rate has remained the same at $15 per hour since 2011, and when we solicited Request for Proposals in 2020, the rates from other vendors (other than RMG) ranged from $20 to $37.50 per hour.
The contract guarantees a minimum of 4,500 contract hours – 2,800 at Wheaton Warrenville South High School and 1,700 at Wheaton North High School. The number of hours at Wheaton North High School has increased by 1,300 due to the retirement of an in-house training staff member. The contract also provides a physician for all football games.
