Annually, our auditors prepare an independent audit of the financial statements of CUSD 200. They also express an opinion based on the combined financial statements of the District. The Board of Education is asked on an annual basis to accept the independent audit as presented by Baker Tilly US, LLP.

Summary:

Nick Cavaliere, a partner with Baker Tilly US, LLP and the lead auditor for CUSD 200, addressed the Board of Education in an oral report at the March 8, 2023 regular meeting. He provided a highlight of the audit process and the 2021-2022 results for the Board of Education. One note in the single audit involved adjusting revenues collected for prior expenditures and correcting where these revenues were to be categorized (Capital Projects Fund). The correcting entries will be processed in the financial system after the Board approves this consent agenda item.
The Single Audit was not in a final status on March 8th and no action was taken by the BOE on March 8th, which is why we are asking for approval this month.
