Subject: Acceptance of Gifts from Lincoln Elementary School PTA

Policy:
Background According to Board Policy 8.80, the Board, on the recommendation of the Superintendent, must accept all gifts individuals or organizations contribute to the District if they are $500 or more in value.

Summary: Lincoln PTA purchased or funded the following for the benefit of the students and staff of Lincoln: Books, subscriptions, and periodicals; music, recess, and P.E. supplies and equipment; miscellaneous furniture and office supplies, playground equipment, and grade-level field trips (fees & transportation). The total cost of the aforementioned items is $67,797.23. By donating these items, Lincoln PTA transfers ownership of the items and relinquishes to District 200 the responsibility for maintenance, repair, insurance and any liability incurred in the use of the items donated.
