Policy:
Background The Vision 2026 Strategic Plan includes a strategy of preparing students for a full range of post secondary opportunities. Included under this strategy is the tactic of developing extensive Career Pathways. As a part of this work, CUSD 200 would like to create an Engineering Pathway.

Summary: Project Lead the Way (PLTW) offers a comprehensive Engineering Pathway for high school students, featuring a series of courses aimed at building engineering skills and preparing students for post-secondary studies or careers in STEM fields. The introductory course, Engineering Essentials, gives students a foundational understanding of engineering, covering various disciplines and essential skills. In this course, students learn about the engineering design process, develop technical skills, practice teamwork, and engage in problem-solving activities. To support the implementation of PLTW Engineering Courses, additional laptops are needed. These devices will be used not only in Engineering Essentials but also in all future engineering courses that the high school plans to recommend as part of this pathway.
Funding: 60 laptops at $1,400 per device. 12 HDMI cables at $10.00 per cable 2 charging charts at $1,500 per chart PLTW annual fee at $3,200 per building Supply budget of $9,000 per building
