Background
|
For Workers' Compensation coverage, the district is a member of the School Employees Loss Fund (SELF) cooperative. SELF is a Workers' Compensation pool made up of 86 Illinois school districts. In June 2024, the Board of Education approved the Workers' Compensation renewal for 2024-25 with SELF. The total premium for the year was $203,272, which was a 6.55% decrease over the 2023-24 premium.

Summary:

The district received the renewal from SELF for the 2025-26 school year in the amount of $297,612, with a final cost of $206,365 after a return of contributions and payroll audit adjustments. This represents a 1.52% increase over the 2024-25 premium. The increase is due to a expected increase in payroll and small increases in our experience modification factors. The final cost does include a return of contributions from the SELF Pool totaling $83,502 for CUSD 200, which helps to offset district premiums. A copy of the renewal is attached for your reference.
