Background:
|
The District evaluated an area for a potential hazard using the Illinois Department of Transportation’s guidelines. A hazard is declared to exist in any single situation in which the sum of points equals or exceeds 12.
The area studied was crossing President St. at College Ave. for Franklin Middle School students. This evaluation totaled 12 points. Therefore, this situation qualifies as a serious safety hazard (Finding #200-23-001). |
