Background
|
The administration prioritized one (1) roofing project to be completed in the summer of 2024 due to the age and poor condition of a section of the roof at Wheaton North High School. This project was included in the capital plan and was reviewed and recommended by the Board Facilities Committee. Bids were structured with a base bid for Roof Section 32 and an alternate bid for Roof Section 10, which is adjacent to Roof Section 32.

Summary:
|
The bid opening was held on November 30, 2023. Sixteen (16) contractors picked up the bid package and ten (10) responded. The base bid is for Roof Section 32 and the alternate was for Roof Section 10. Attached is a letter from Legat Architects recommending Metalmaster Roofmaster, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for the aggregate Base Bid and Alternate #1. The total bid submission is $612,136.
A copy of the recommendation letter from Legat Architects and the Summer 2024 Capital Project list summarizing all 2024 projects is attached.
